You can summon with the squirrel ears but the Squirrel or Fluffy will not attack. They will disappear after a lack of attention for a few mins and you have to wait for 30mins to re-summon. I found that if you log into lobby and back on, you can immediately summon them again. This glitch is subject to change.
You cannot, however, use any summoning familiar in the summoning skill. Summoning is a members only skill.
