Its not all about height its more about bringing you feet up high so that the deck can spin freely but to awnser your question it depends on how fast you can spin the deck . I jump about 20 cm high to single tailwhip
Yes, you can tailwhip without a gyro, but it requires a different set of skills and techniques. Gyros help maintain stability and control during tricks, especially on BMX bikes, but many riders successfully perform tailwhips on bikes without gyros by using their body movements and bike positioning to generate the necessary momentum and rotation. Mastering the tailwhip without a gyro may take more practice, but it's entirely possible.
Its harder on a Madd Gear Pro than on a razor pro but you get used to it quickly

what you have to do first is to get enough air out a ramp/off a curb or just a hop... then try to flick it round with your feet only (without jumping) and then try swinging it round with only your hands (with only holding the bars) and then try both at one... when your good at that try it out a ramp. always ware protection and be carefull with your ancles (i broke mine by the deck hitting it in a tailwhip with no protection on my ancles.) good luck my scooting friend! :)
If you tailwhip a lot it tightens itself... make sure you loosen it regularly
