Ask your boyfriend to do it, sweetheart.
I have 1997 Nissan Maxima. You ned to replace the entire hub assembly. My problem is that they discontinued the 1997 hub assembly and the suggested replacement part's ABS ring is 4MM taller therefore the ABS sensor cannot clear the ABS ring. Any ideas on this one?
To replace the wheel hub assembly on a 1999 Nissan Maxima, first, lift the vehicle and remove the wheel. Disconnect the brake caliper and rotor, and then remove the axle nut. Next, unbolt the hub assembly from the suspension and pull it out, then install the new hub assembly in reverse order, ensuring all bolts are torqued to specifications. Finally, reattach the wheel and lower the vehicle.
The rim will bolt up to the hub but the tire and rim stick out beyond the wheel wells by about an inch with the 18". The 17" (SL) wheel is a better choice for that year than the 18" (SE).
the lug patterns are the same however, the middle hub is smaller on the nissan than ford, u made need to shave off about a mm all around to get hub and rim flush.
For the 2008 Nissan Maxima, the lug pattern is 5 x 4.5 inches or 5 x 114.3 millimeters. The stud size is 12 x 1.25, the hub center bore is 66.1, and the offset is high positive.
they are a machine fit. they must be pressed in and out with a hydraulic press, any machine shop should be able to do it.
Rims from a Nissan Maxima typically will not fit a Ford Fusion due to differences in bolt patterns, offset, and hub sizes. The Maxima usually has a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, while the Fusion may have variations depending on the model year. It's essential to check both the specifications and consult with a professional to ensure compatibility before attempting to swap rims.
For a 2002 Nissan Maxima, the rear wheel hub assembly should typically be torqued to around 100 ft-lbs (135 Nm). It's important to use a torque wrench to ensure accuracy and to follow a star pattern when tightening the bolts to ensure even pressure. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for the most accurate specifications and any specific instructions related to your model.
undo anti clockwise direction, they are very tight, I have just replaced the right rear bearing hub assembly.
You need a press, my advice is to go to NTB or sears and pay the 65 bucks to have this done right and fast takes no longer than an hour
I have a 2003 that sounds like it has a bad rear hub bearing. I plan to change it this week. I'll let you know when I'm done.
