People used to suck out the venom through the bite. This wasn't always effective though. They could never get all the venom out. The venom would usually spread through the body not long afterwards.
Suck out the poison and take the dog to the vet.

If someone got bitten by a venomous snake, another pioneer would take aknife and cut an "x" at the bite location. They would then suck out theblood and hopefully the poison. If they happen to belucky enough to survive, the body part that was bitten would normally haveto be amputated. If they were bitten on their core, death was almostcertain.
