To take a screenshot of the entire screen press and hold shift > command > 3. To take a screenshot of just a portion of the screen you choose press shift > command > 4, then left click on mouse and hold, then move mouse to highlight the part of the screen you want to take a screenshot of. Release left click and screenshot will be taken. All screenshots are saved to desktop screen.

∙ 12y agoPressing the three keys: Command, Shift and 3 will take a picture of the whole screen.
Pressing: Command, Shift and 4 gives you a cross hair cursor that you can click and drag around the area you want to shoot or pressing the Space bar will change the cross hair cursor into a camera icon that will shoot the highlighted window.
In the utilities folder (within the Applications folder) is an application called Grab which offers other options such as timed screen shots etc.
