To remove the steering wheel from a Renault Clio one must first remove all screws from the back side of the steering column. Once all the screws are removed the steering wheel should be able to be wiggled free.
Most likely CV joints.
Almost definately. I had the radio cassette in my wifes 02 Clio replaced by a Renault CD player and it worked with the steering wheel controls. Not sure about the procedure (we had it done at the dealership we bought the car from as an add in when we bought it) so don't know what if anything else they had to do.

clio 2004 does not have oil pump or belt, it has an electronic ecu and motor attached to steering column buried deep under the dash board.

to change the speedo on a mk1 clio u a to take off top half of the dash there are screws by the window and screws when ypu open the door, then you have to take off the panels around the steering wheel, and the panel underneath that, then it is easy u will under stand frm there
the fuses in a clio can be found on the nearside side of the dashboard if you open the door there is a cover they should be inside there
Smoke coming out of steering box usually means the fluid is burned. It can also mean that the steering gear is failing.
