You're going to need a couple special tools...a steering wheel remover, and lock plate remover, and probably a pair of snap ring pliers. Good Luck!!
Replacing a steering knuckle on a Chevy Colbalt is easy. All you have to is take the steering wheel off and replace the old one.
take off center cover, remove large nut then use wheel puller to remove steering wheel
there should be a couple of bolts on the back side of your steering wheel that removes the front face and after you take that off there will be a large nut that will take off the rest of the steering wheel, but remember to disconnect the airbag before you remove the steering wheel cause you could set it off.
pull the center pad off the wheel and then take the nut off that holds the wheel on and then get a steering wheel puller and hook it up and pull the wheel off the splines.
yes
The wheel should lock when you take the key out of the ignition. If it doesn't, there's something wrong.
Remove two screws 10mm from back of steering wheel, take the air bag part off the steering wheel after removing the two screws, then there should be one big bolt that you haft to remove . The steering wheel will come right off..
I took the steering wheel off and I am wondering where I go next, do I take the four big bolts that hold the steering col. to the bottom of dash off, or what , I sure could use some sound advise, I am mechanically inclined but I have never been inside one of these. my problem is the whole steering wheel moves around and I am trying to get to the bolts that hold it together in there somewhere........ any advice sure would be appreciated . thanks gents.....Jesse Vasquez @ cierrajane @ windstream.net Van is a 1988 Chevy van G20, with a 350 enjine......
When you take the horn button off there is 1 big nut in the center of the steering wheel. Remove the nut and the safety snap ring. Then install a puller onto the steering wheel and pull it off. It will not just lift off with your hands.
you have to take the horn cover off, unscrew the nut, and either use a steering wheel puller or your hands. You can place both your hands on the underside on both sides and hit upwards.
To take the steering wheel off to get to the horn a person needs a steering wheel puller. It will remove the steering wheel by applying pressure to the middle and pulling up on the rest.
well dude u take the horn cover off and taake all the guts out and then u should see holes in the stering wheel and get a steering wheel puller and pull it off
