Teaching a parakeet to sing takes a lot of work. Anyone can do it though. You must have patience. It may take 2 YEARS to teach a simple song, such as 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' to your birds. Maybe even 3. But today, you can change this. Follow these steps:
1. Chose your song. Ex. ABC sing with me.
2. Gently sing to your bird. Don't be embarrassed, only they will hear. :)
3. Chose your tempo, like, if you want your bird to always sing in fast, follow the beat to the fast tone. Slow, follow the beat with the slow tone.
Chose your noise level. high pitched, low pitched, scythe.
4. Sing the song in your own special way, and have fun.
5. Your bird may start to chirp, this is a good sign that they like this choice.
6. Sing the song daily. 7 times a day, if possible, more.
7. If the bird hears the song anywhere else but not from you, they WILL try to memorize this. It is ok. Don't make it go away, it's just like free work.
8. Keep doing this every day, soon your bird might sing the first paragraph of your song.
9. Do this until the bird has fully learned the song. After they have, keep singing it once in a while so they will keep it fresh in mind.
10. Just have fun!
You cannot humanely make any creature do what it does not want to do naturally.
You sing to it. Fiona did this in shrek
