Well, The Male Zebra Danio are usually "Smaller and Slimmer" while the Females are Bigger especially when they are going to have fry.

Look for the genitalia (being the scrotum which contains the testes and the sheath which protects the penis) between the hind legs. If there are no genitals between the legs and just two teats, then the zebra's a mare or female. If genitalia is present, then the zebra's a male or a stallion.

One is black with white stripes the other is white with black stripes. Males also are larger than females, on average.

Look between the hind legs. If there's a sheath and testicles there, then it's a male. If there's teats (two of them), then it's a female.
