you use the mass number for the neutrons. you take away the atomic nomber from the mass number and the answer is the number of neutrons. for the electrons and the protons you just write the atomic number.

Quite easy to do, just get the mass number, the bigger of an atoms two numbers on the Periodic Table, and subtract the atomic number, the smaller of the two. The Atomic number is the amount of protons, the big one minus the little one is the amount of neutrons. EG, oxygen has an atomic number of 8 and a mass number of 16. So there are 8 protons, from atomic number. There are 8 neutrons. 16(Mass)-8(Atomic)=8.

no. of electrons=no. of protons=ATOMIC NUMBER OF THE ELEMENT. no. of neutrons=MASS NUMBER OF THE ELEMENT - ATOMIC NUMBER OF THE ELEMENT. thank you!!

The number of electrons in an element is the same as the number of protons - that is, the elements atomic number, e.g. the atomic number of oxygen is 8 so it has 8 electrons.
