my 7.3 powerstroke will start sputtering while going down the road. then i can start it back up then it would run fine. thanks for your help
It tell's it when to shift ....depending on throttle position
You tell me. That's why I came to this site.
hi i have a clio 1.2 2001 and have a fault code p0225 throttle/ pedal position sensor switch c circuit. i have changed the throttle pedel and has made no diffrence the vehicle still wont rev up but cant find the throttle position sensor under the bonnet please can you tell me were it is located. thank you.
I just purchased the throttle sensor for a 2003 Buick rendezvous and was wondering if anyone could tell me where it located and how easy is it to put in.
They are all somewhat the same. You have a drive by wire system. (no cable-a radio signal is used to tell comp gas pedal and throttle position and maintain relationship) This is on your throttle body on one side the other moves the blade. This sensor tell the computer the position of the blade in your throttle body.
Code 24 Throttle position sensor. Normally means that the 5 volt reference voltage that it sends to the computer to tell the throttles position has been exceeded. at idle the throttle position sensor should be .5 volts at full throttle it should be 4.9 volts if the TPS exceeds 5 volts it creates a code 24
A bad throttle sensor can cause engine jerking and rough running. A test of the computer codes should show if there seems to be a problem with the sensor.
Its on the throttle body, back side (firewall side). Its on the passenger side of the car, where the plastic intake from the air filter hooks on to the aluminum part. Mine has a gold finish, and is a small round 'can' shape. Here is the fun part, it is riveted on to the throttle body, and is not intended for 'backyard' replacement. I haven't been able to find one for sale (haven't checked with the dealer yet), the aftermarket parts stores tell me I need to buy the entire throttle body, not just the sensor. Its also been referred to as a throttle angle sensor. When I had my 87 Honda in for service for a different problem, they said my PGM-FI light was on because of a bad throttle position sensor. I am still driving it howerver. I notice it stumbles a little on acceleration, perhaps this is why, I don't know. I found a used throttle body on the internet for $154. I don't know yet if that includes the throttle position sensor or not.
a pintle position sensor tell the engine computer what the exact position of the egr valve is
loping idle. does not maintain idle, sometimes shuts engine off. do an ohm test.
A position sensor is used to tell the position, such as a position sensor used in some cars to aid parking. Similarly, a position sensor may be used in ultrasounds, to identify the position of body parts.
I had the same problem, so I changed the throttle position sensor and the camshaft sensor as well...it worked for me, hope it works for you too. also change the map sensor that was the reason the light was on
