you can't tell the sex of a budgie as a baby unless you DNA test it ( which i wouldn't suggest and would probably be a waste of money and time )
even a vet couldn't tell the sex of a baby budgie...
but when they are older boy budgies have blue crests (the part above their beak) and girls are brown or a pink colour.

∙ 12y agoAbove the beak, there is a colored crested nose. It is called the cere. If the color of the cere is pink or red, then it is a girl. if the color is bright blue,purple, or mixed blue & purple, then it is a boy. If the color is neither (light blue or light pink) then they are too young too tell. Usually a young budgie with a light blue cere is a young girl... (P.S. my budgie girl is just like that.) If the young bird has a light pink cere, more than likely it will be a boy. Thank you for reading this. :)

∙ 10y agoabove their beaks there is a "band". if the band is blue, then it's a boy. if the band is tan, pink, or brown, it's a girl. but if it's a young parakeet, the band will be pink.when it gets older, the color will change.
