the effectiveness of the compressor will be low and the temperature at which the environment is cooled will reduce.
You will need to connect your Freon bottle to the low pressure port on your 2002 Chevy Cavalier air conditioning compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor. A Freon recharge kit will come with everything you need and instructions.
If you are only getting warm air out of the airducts with the AC turned on, it may be time for more freon. Also, if you hear a growling noise from the compressor when accelerating, that is also an indication of low freon.
If you are talking about removing the freon in the a/c system then you will need a freon reclaimer.............
You will need a Freon recharge kit. Connect the hoses of the recharge kit to the ports on top of the air conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor.
This can be a sign of a bad compressor and you will need to run a compressor check first, this can be done without draining the freon....
Low freon you need to recharge
Depends on the size of the unit and how bit or small the compressor is. There will be labels that will tell the technician how many pounds to capacity for Freon.
You've lost enough freon so that the pressure safety switch will not let the compressor stay on. Just need to add a can of freon.
Run your engine with the A/C on and watch the end of the compressor where the belt is. If it kicks on you will see the it start turning. if it doesn't turn and never starts turning you may need your A/C charged with freon. If the belt smokes you compressor may be locked up.
To add Freon to a 1994 Volvo 850 you will need to buy 4 cans of Arctic Ice and one can of blue dye. Use the spray can nozzle to attach to the air conditioning compressor and add the Freon. I am a certified auto AC tech and would not recommend putting 4 cans of Freon in a car AC system all at once. If you do not have gauges then put one can of Freon (refrigerant) in at a time. Have the air conditioner turned up on high, the car running and begin adding the Freon while shaking the can. When the compressor kicks on ( you should hear the compressor click on) you should almost be finished. If the compressor cycles in and out quickly this means you need more Freon. If the compressor clicks on and runs for a minute or 2 then put no more Freon in the system.
If you got to any auto parts store, they will have bottles of r134a that you can buy that have gauges in the handles that will tell you when you have enough in it. If you system wont cool or is out of freon you have a leak and should get it check to have a repair done, an ac system with out freon has no lub either and that will lead to compressor burn out. The freon cools the air and lubs the compressor.
Purchase a Freon recharge kit. Connects the Freon hoses to the ports on the air conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor.
