The ss has a different gauge cluster in it than the plain el camino, the ss has the oil , temp and amp gauges where the plain dash just has the idiot lights.
It will have the dash with all the gauges built into it.
Easy, Chevy didn't make an El Camino SS in 1980.
I don't have a 63 impala but if I did and there were ss badges on it I would want to know for sure if it was real, you can check the serial # on the vin to be sure.

A person may be able to get a Commodore SS car from a local used car dealership. A person may also be able to get a Commodore SS from Edmunds or Auto Trader.

I believe that a couple ways are to look on the caprices that someone would make into a clone, the trunk release button is below the headlight switch, but on a real Impala ss it is in the glove box. Also the 1996 Impalas had console shifters, not column.

The VIN number should reveal the answer you seek. Also, the serial number of the motor, trans etc. should match up to those used in SS cars. You can still have a true SS car, with the wrong engine etc, just that the value is cut by 1/2.
