You cannot say that without aking your boyfriend feel bad. You can suggest that he needs to go to the dentist because you feel that he has an infection or should see the dentist because he hasn't been there for longer than 6 months. If all suggestions fail, tell the truth. It hurts but they couldn't understand the hints so you had to do the right thing.
