how we drifted away from the truth
Continental Drift happened, when the tectonic plates in the earth shifted, and pushed the lithosphere up, causing our continents to split.
Well, the theory was was that we used to be one huge continent called Pangaea and that was thought because there were similar fossils found on different continents. Scientists thought that we drifted away from each other over time.
The theory of plate tectonics suggests that the Earth's continents were once connected as a single landmass called Pangea. Over millions of years, the landmass broke apart and drifted to their current positions. This process continues today, with continents still slowly moving.
Continental Drift:)
Yes, there was a land bridge known as Pangaea that connected all of the continents around 300 million years ago. Over time, this supercontinent drifted apart due to the movement of tectonic plates. Today, the continents are separate landmasses.
verb."i driffted away from the island."
The breakup of Pangaea occurred due to the movement of tectonic plates. Over millions of years, the immense forces of plate tectonics caused Pangaea to gradually break apart into separate continents that drifted away from each other. This process resulted in the formation of the continents as we know them today.
Continental drift.
Indian subcontinent was attached to east Africa before it drifted away 200 million years ago.
it drifted away during Pangaea and it is a subcontinent
Alfred Wegener was the first person to fully develop a theory that all the continents of the world were once part of the same giant landmass (or supercontinent) called Pangea; which broke apart with the constituent parts drifting away from one another and arriving at their current locations. This drift is still occurring today and some scientists believe that the continents will eventually recombine to form another supercontinent called Pangaea ultima.
