If you are using a single conductor of a multi-conductor cable that is not already identified as the grounding conductor it will first need to be identified as such. The grounding conductor, also known as the equipment ground or ground wire will be identified with green insulation or no insulation at all bare copper/aluminum. At both ends and anywhere accessible shall be marked green every 4" for 1/0 and higher and completely covered for #1 and lower. A service will require one of three bonds:

1. Cold water ground bonded within 5' of where the service enters the premises.

2. Ground rod 1/2" X 8' {standard 125amp service}.

3. Gas Pipe within 5' of entry.

If you are referring to a branch circuit bond that originates from an over-current protective device {breaker or fuse} in the distribution/sub-panel the you can bond to cold water pipe or an existing grounding conductor that originates in the same panel and maintains the same size conductor or greater to the panel can be used.

A wire to wire bond can be bonded using any wire bonding method used for that size wire {i.e. wire nuts, Buchanan crimps, kernie's, etc....}. For a pipe bond a mechanical screw crimping clamp is a preferred method. It is a two screw clamp that tightens firmly around pipe and has a hole through it with a screw to compress a conductor. It may also have a lug or other means to accomplish wire attachment. The ground rod will have a similar method but smaller diameter clamp to clamp smaller radius material {rod, pipe}. For rod another preferred method will be a "acorn" connector. It's two piece design allows the rod and the wire to pass through it and a screw to compress them together within.

There are other methods using thermal chemical known as Cad-Welding but I think if you were in possession of the required equipment needed for this you will already know how to use it and would not be asking on an open forum lol.

**Note: When using copper wire brass clamps are used and aluminum wire will need aluminum clamps.

*Hint-For Aluminum use a non-oxidizing compound [kno-lox brand is popular] at the point of wire crimp and on the threads of the screw to eliminate oxidation and seizing of the screw for any future adjustments.

What two colors may be used for the ground conductor neutral?

What two colors may be used for the ground conductor (neutral)

What is the difference between a ground conductor and a ground electrode conductor?

# A ground electrode conductor is a conductor that originates at the neutral or equipment ground buses in the main service entrance panel board or separating derived system (e.g. isolation transformer) # A ground electrode is a item that is in contact with the earth (e.g. Building metal frame, underground continuous metallic water pipe etc...) # A ground conductor is a conductor that is used to keep an electrical system continuous. Ground conductors are required, by code, in all PVC conduit runs. Ground conductors are also used to keep all metallic components of the installation at the same zero potential to overcome mechanical connections that would not carry a fault current back to the supply distribution panel.

How are the live neutral and ground wires connected to a duplex grounding type receptacle?

The black "hot" conductor goes to the brass coloured screw. The white coloured conductor goes to the silver coloured screw. The bare ground conductor goes to the ground green coloured screw

What is an earth or ground continuity conductor?

An earth or ground conductor that is used for continuity throughout the home is the ground conductor that is found in cable wire sets. What it is used for is to bring everything that it is connected to down to the same potential which is zero. The grounding circuit is a low impedance circuit. If a fault occurs on any equipment and shorts out to ground, this conductor being directly connected to the distribution panel, carries the fault and trips the breaker feeding the faulted circuit.

The neutral conductor at sub panels must be?

separate from the ground.

What are the faults in the cable?

Cable faults are normally categorised as (a) conductor-to-earth (ground) faults, (b) conductor-to-conductor faults, and (c) conductor-to-conductor-to earth (ground) faults. In addition to that, we can categorise them by whether they are 'high-resistance' or 'low-resistance' faults.

How you make NOT gate by using X-OR gate?

Tie unused input high through pullup resistor.

Can ground conductor use as a neutral conductor in a house wiring?

No. Absolutely not. The ground conductor is not rated to carry constant current flow. It is only rate to carry fault current flow.

An electrical current continually seeks a pathway to ground.

Is green ground in an extention cord?

Yes, the green conductor is the colour of the ground wire in an extension cord. The black wire is dedicated to be the "hot" and the white conductor is the neutral.
