There should be 4 bolts on the back between the brakes and the sprocket, the top two will have slots that should be of equal distance once finished.
Loosen all 4 bolts then take the jam nut loose at the chain tension bolt This bolt should be on the same side as the sprocket and chain. Turn the tension bolt clockwise until the chain has about 1 1/2" of slack in it. Tighten everything back up and you should be good.
To tighten the chain on a Yamaha YZ 250 a person can remove a link from the chain. If the need is not as great as a full link to tighten it, the rear sprocket can be adjusted back to tighten the chain also.
There are four (4) 8mm bolts that hold the rear axle assembly onto the chasis. Loosen all four bolts. The chain adjusters are located on the two bottom bolts. Turn the chain adjuster nut (6mm) on the chain adjuster clockwise to tighten the chain making sure that you are evenly adjusting each adjuster the same to keep the axle square to the frame. Once the chain is adjusted properly (approximately 1/2" up/down play), first tighten the 4 8mm bolts and then snug up thr 6mm chain adjuster nuts.

You can't adjust the chain on an LT80. You can buy an aftermarket chain tensioner if you wish to do this. This is the only way.
The best feature of the Suzuki LT80 is the strength of the machine. Though the Suzuki LT80 may appear to be small, people have found that it is able to easily lift and transport at least 190 pounds of weight.
There are 17 letters and numbers in the serial to the Suzuki LT80, it is considered a VIN number.
