Check the fluid level at the dipstick according to the instructions written in you owners manual. You my have to check it with the engine running and you may not. If it is low add fluid slowly a little bit at a time. Do not overfill.
No it won't, the shape of the beds are different.
Volkswagen does not want you taking labor fees away from it's dealers so they removed the dipstick. You need a scantool to properly top off the atf.

The MAP Sensor on a 1999 Tacoma is located on the top of the manifold. It is held on by a clip on the driver's side of the Electronic Fuel Injector (carburetor).

your heater core has air trapped in it take hoses off and run water through the top and it should fix your problem
I don't know for sure about a 1998 Tacoma, but on my 2002 Tacoma SR5 V6 both the high and low port are on at the top, back, left side (passenger's side) of the engine compartment. The low port has a grey cap with the letter "L" on the top. The high port has a black cap on it.
