Call the postal service handling the postage.

Most deliveries also have a track service available. This basically allows you to track the progress of your package online via a link you will receive via email or on your account of the website you purchased the goods from.

An example of package tracking:

10th Dec 2012 | 12:32:11 - Order placed

11th Dec 2012 | 09:04:35 - Order dispatched

13th Dec 2012 | 16:10:01 - Order arrived at mail sorting office

14th Dec 2012 | 05:34:22 - Order on mail truck

15th Dec 2012 | 13:19:05 - Order delivered. Owner not home. Retry tomorrow

16th Dec 2012 | 12:46:21 - Order delivered successfully.

Basically every time the package changes hands or goes into transit, it is scanned by a wireless barcode scanner, which allows you to be updated on it;s movements.

Some companies may charge for tracking while others include free tracking in orders.
