To trade Emerald to other 3rd generation (GBA) games you need two Game Body Advances, and a linking cable. To trade Emerald to the 4th generation (DS) games, you put emerald in the GBA slot of the DS, have your DS game in, and hit migrate on the main screen. Now, you pick 6 Pokemon from your box, and get them at the pal park.
