Dogs may have different learning styles, but they all benefit from structure, routine, and consistent enforcing of boundaries. As pack animals, they're also looking to you for gentle, benevolent leadership. Yelling, hitting, and other techniques that inflict pain or fear are never the solution for any dog--they can create a behavior problem or make an existing problem worse.
m32yes it is.
The wire crate is actually a very humane option. However if you'd prefer not to use those, you could also use a plastic crate with a few holes near the top. These are best with dogs with separation anxiety.
STRESS and anxiety. The dog's frightened. Same symptoms when the dog is suffering from a bout of separation anxiety - he would pant, salivate, whine, scratch frantically to get out if he is in a crate, chew and generally get into a real state.
Dachshund is having separation anxiety and does not like being left alone. I would create the dog when you are not home and he/she will probably not soil the crate as it would also soil the dog.
If you dog is well trained and well adjusted, you can leave him inside. However, if he is not housebroken, he will make messes unless you put him in a crate while you are gone. It is said that dogs will not soil inside their crate. As soon as you get home, let him out. If he is not well adjusted, in other words is over anxious/has separation anxiety, he may be very destructive if left alone. Crating solves this, also.
Let it sleep on your bed for 1 to 2 weeks .
Sounds like your dog is going through separation anxiety, the best way to controll this would be to crate train the dog, and make sure the have things to do while you are out.
Try not keeping the dog in a crate! They get bored, that's probably why it has resorted to destruction. : : : I am home with my dog all day....winter time, so going out alot less, therefore he is crated alot less...now that I have been going out, this is the behavior I am getting. He is 5 months old, good dog. Not sure if this is teenage issue, separation issue, or maybe I just need to re-crate train or get a bigger crate. He loved his crate early on - hanging out in it all the time. Not so much lately
The weight of the crate is acting downward on the ground and the ground is exerting a force equal to the weight of the crate upward on the crate.
A collapsible crate is used for transporting things which would be hard to get out of a regular crate. A collapsible crate can be made flat by folding out all of the sides of the crate.
The plural of crate is crates.
The Crate was created in 1979.
