Well, you should keep them in separate rooms if it gets too rough.
If you want them to get along, you should probably bring them in the same room and sit on the floor, just watch them. If your small dog attacks your big dog, say something high-pitched, like "AH!" To startle it a bit. Soon your small dog will learn to leave the big dog alone.
