I believe that just transferring the SIM card from the old phone to the new one will do the trick. The card is usually behind the battery pack.
You can't put a Tracfone SIM card into a phone from another service company, but that shouldn't be a problem since you're switching between Tracfones.

∙ 14y agoI called tracfone At 1-800-867-7183 talked to tech service and they walked me right through it. It took about 15 minutes and even transferred my minutes to the new phone. Fast and simple.

∙ 9y agoIt is usually not possible to transfer contacts from another phone to a Straight Talk phone. It would be possible to enter the contacts manually, though.

Only if the numbers are stored on the SIM card. If they're simply stored in the phone's internal memory - you would have to transfer them manually.
