Blue screen of death or BSOD is caused when major component of your operating system go missing. Most common BSOD are caused due to faulty drive in which the operating system is installed to. You should get a SSD for operating system installation if possible and if you find it too expensive then you can go for good hard drives. Try not to install anything else other than the operating system to a hard drive. Some times the connections are not strong and the wire may be loose this causes a minor lag or minor disconnection which then shows BSOD. Make sure the ports are clean (with no dust ) and working. Connect them properly. Make sure your system recognizes your hard drive and the drivers get installed. If not then you should download them from the website of the company of the hard drive. Make sure there are no viruses in your PC. Also go ahead and buy a antivirus and i personally recommend Kaspersky anti virus as it is inexpensive and does the job pretty nicely.
