That depends on the age of the engine.
Air filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor are always a good place to start.
If it's an older engine you may need to include points and condenser.
If it's TBI you may need to include oxygen sensors and connect it to an engine diagnostic scanner.
You can always look in your owners manual and see what is recommended for the routine maintenance.

You can also do a manuel diagnostic. It will give you a set of codes.
