A computer can not turn off by itself. The monitor just turns blank it you leave it. To turn off the computer you have to prees the on button on your computer. If you press the botton on the monitor it is not turning the computer off... just the screen.

Yes it can. If you have your monitor professionally installed you just have to turn the ignition part of your car on. If your power windows are able to roll down or you are able to turn on your lights etc then the monitor will work.

You cannot do that as turning off the monitor turns off the computer. You can however put it to sleep which uses almost no energy. Click the Apple logo and scroll down and click Sleep.
