through electrolysis. you tube it, there are a ton of videos for ya.

Basically you attach the ends of a battery, (could be a nine volt to a car battery), and stick the two connected wires into a glass of water (Make sure the two wires don't touch each other). After awhile you'll start to see bubbles collect around the two wires. On one wire oxygen bubbles will collect, on the other wire hydrogen bubbles will collect. this process is called electrolysis.
