There was a pop-up window that was the only place to enter text and once inserted I was not able to edit it by simple voice commands. So uninstalled Word 2010 and reinstalled Word 2007 and they work fine side by side (Word 2007 / office 2010 everything else). once again this is my experience while using Windows 7 64bit.
