By using Alt codes on Windows you can enter any symbol or foreign accented letter. Alt codes are utilised by holding down the ALT key while entering the corresponding numerals, then releasing the ALT key.
Note that you must use the number key pad on the right, it does not work with the numbers up top above the letters.

It depends on what keyboard you are using (different countries have different keyboards - especially when they speak different languages). If you are using a US keyboard, there is no option to type í naturally. In Microsoft products (such as Word, etc.) there is a convention on PCs to use Ctrl + ' , followed by the letter over which you want the accent to form. On Apples, the convention is Apple + e, followed by the letter over which you want the accent to form.If you are using a Spanish keyboard, press the acute accent key and then press the letter over which you want the accent to form.
There are a few ways. You can go to the Insert menu and go to Symbol and then Normal Text and you will find them there. If you hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys and then press any one of the vowel keys, you can get an accent over them.
Fiance with one e (and an accent) is the masculine. Fiancee is the feminine, with an accent over the first e. I can't figure out how to type accents on windows, though :-/

J'habite avec ma mere, mon pere, et mon frere. (There are accent marks on the first e in mere and pere and frere. It's an accent mark that looks like \ but over the letter. I cant type it.)
You have some way to get to the fonts that you are using. This is easy with Word documents. Go to the font and you will see that pretty much any combination of letter and accent will be represented on the list. You will have to do some clicking and highlighting, but you will see how you can copy the letter you want into your document. You cannot type in a letter and then, after it is typed, add an accent as you would when writing.
L'Ecosse - there is an accent aigu over the first e (I couldn't figure out how to type it in). the adjective forms (Scottish) are ecossais, ecossaise (again with the accent aigu).
There's different ways to get an accent over a letter. One of them is the cryptic code where you hold down alt then press certain code to a certain type of letter or sign with an accent over it. For instance to put an accent over an o type in alt+0243 ó. On a make there's also codes, but it's different from the cryptic way-á = Opt + e, then a é = Opt + e, then e í = Opt + e, then i ó = Opt + e, then o ú = Opt + e, then u For the ñ, hold down the Option key while you type the n; release and type n again. ñ = Opt + n, then n To place the diaeresis over the u, hold down the Option key while pressing the u key; release and type u again. ü = Opt + u, then u The inverted punctuation marks are achieved as follows: ¡ = Opt + 1 ¿ Opt + shift + ?
There is no apostrophe but there is an accent, which looks the same as an apostrophe but goes over a letter to indicate a certain pronunciation. The accent on the 'e' is like this: 'Qué tal?'. If you need to type it and do not have accented letters on your keyboard, you can create the character by holding down the Alt key, typing '0233' and releasing the Alt key.
Hold the control key and then type the mark you want on top of the letter. For example, these characters: ' ~ ` - etc. Umlaut is ":", cedille is ",". Then release those and type the letter you want accented. For example: CTRL + ' , e yields é
