If you mean as with numbers, like this: 10th then it is known as Superscripting. If you type a number and then th and then hit the spacebar, it will automatically superscript the th for you. If it does not, select the th and press Ctrl-Shift and the = key, which has the + sign on it.
Th course identification numbers are particular to each specific college and university. There is no standard numbering system.
