You might have a Nerf dart stuck in the Recon. First, stick a long finger (if you have one, or a screwdriver if not) into the slot for the cartridge and press on a small orange tab at the back. After it clicks, you can slide the pump back. Now you should see a dart jammed in the back of the Recon. You might be able to slide it out with a screwdriver, but you will probably need something to grab it (long tweezers or 'magic fingers'). Good luck!

Usually when a jam occurs it is because 2 darts tried to load. You could just pop out the clip and remove the bent dart that is in your way and then just shoot out the other dart that is loaded.
