You unlcok most by doing the hero's history mode.. But you unlock Hanabi Hyuga by dating her (giving her the items from the merchant) And The First And Second Hokage by finishing the quiz by Ebisu-sensei. And you unlock the yellow flash (4th Hokage) By Unlocking the other 40 characters =]
