if you lost all power to the car ( like replacing your battery for more then ten minutes with out power) it activates the theft system which cuts power to your fuel pump i read other solutions which state leave your ignition on for ten minutes then turn it off for ten minutes then start it but i found out you have to put in neutral also to get it to start this will be for a 96 cavalier

only the radio has a theft device built in if it is a stock radio. basically read your owners manual and it will describe how to set a code to where a thief did not get the code right, as soon as he disconnected the radio it wouldn't work anymore.
