As with all piercings, the jewelry can be a little bit stubborn to remove or replace because of the small balls on barbells, horseshoe rings etc.etc.
Remember that if you're removing your jewelry for the first time, it will be a VERY stubborn process, because your piercer made the effort to screw them on tight. In addition, any fluids or crusties might get stuck in there and make it even harder to remove.
If it is still in the healing process, I advise you NOT to remove your jewelry under any circumstance, until it is fully healed. This is a very easy way to attract infections, or have the "wound" heal up. Fast. I've had to re-pierce one of mine three times because of such problems.
If any of the above points that were mentioned do not apply, then remember the rules:
Lefty: Loosy Righty: Tighty
However, if you're taking off a lip piercing, it will obviously be reversed.
Clean the area around the ball with a Qtip first, to remove any unwanted crusties. Pinch the ball with your fingers, while holding the bar, or ring in place.
Words of warning:
Don't do this over a sink with a drain. I've lost so many pieces this way! Try to do this in front of a mirror. You'll be able to see the little grooves where the balls screw in as you're unscrewing it.
The safest and most logical thing to do is see your piercer, for a small fee they will gladly loosen the jewellery up for you without hurting the piercing.
To the right
Something very very tasty
Well if it's a barbell, unscrew the ball and remove the jewellery, if it's a captive bead ring, pop the bead out and rotate the jewellery out of the piercing.
For your upper lip, Left is a monroe piercing. The bottom lip could just be a lip piercing, or labret piercing.

A lip piercing hurts worse. nose is more cartilidge and has less nerves than the lip.
It's a center lip piercing, it means it's a center lip piercing, nothing more nothing less.
Whichever you want. I would get the lip piercing first. Its a bit easier to care for and you can learn before you try to handle an eyebrow piercing. Eyebrow piercings are surface piercings so you have to be really careful with them so that they don't reject. As long as you're comfortable with the risks of both, I wold get the lip piercing.
