Start playing a "song" as opposed to an audiobook file. Tap the middle of the screen where the album artwork is or would be. In the right corner, you will see blue crossing arrows...tap this icon to turn it white. The shuffle is now off and will be off regardless of playlist (audiobooks included).
After quite a bit of frustration, I finally figured it out..... This is for the nano.
1. On the main menu page that lists:
Music
Videos
Photos
Podcasts
Extras
Settings
Shuffle Songs
go to Settings and hit center circle button
2. Then you'll see the list:
About
Shuffle
Repeat
Playback
General
Dates & Time
Language
Legal
Reset Settings
3. Click center circle button on Shuffle, and go through the...
Songs
Albums
Off
4. Click till it says Off just to the right.
If you have the small version without the screen, then there should be a little switch with arrows that go around in a circle and arrows that cross each other, flick your switch to the arrow that has the circle. Then it should go alphabetically.
While a song is playing in the upper right part of the screen if you double click anywhere on the album art there will appear two arrows crossing each other, and it would probably be blue, click on it and it will turn white, problem solved.
first, if its an iPod nano 6th generation, you go to sttings, the go to music, then touch the screen where it says "On"
Just double click on one of the stations &it should go back to normal. If it doesn't then you're on your own...
The iPod nano was not the first iPod; the iPod classic (at that time the iPod) was the first.
it is correctly spelled iPod.
