You only get a certain amount of habitats to make. Once you meet the limit of your level, the habitats in the market are locked.
It costs 25 gems.
In DragonVale, you need to reach level 10 to unlock the ability to upgrade your nursery. This upgrade allows you to hatch and raise more dragons simultaneously. As you progress in the game, upgrading your nursery becomes essential for efficient dragon management and breeding.
Once you level up to a different things like treat farms. Once it has a upgrade sign on it you click on it. :)
Go to market, habitats then buy one and put it in your island.

You can earn coins by collecting from the habitats, selling dragons, or by racing.
Fireworks dragons can live in fire or air habitats. Due to their bright coloration, they look a little nicer in an air habitat.

If you get a water dragon in dragon vale, then you put the water dragon in a LARGE water habitat or a normal water habitat.
The amount of habitats you are allowed is dependent on your level. If you are allowed 20 habitats, and you have purchased 17, it would say 17/20. You are at a level that allows 11, and you have 11, so it says 11/11.
If your running out of room in your habitats and you still want more dragons you can put them in the hibernation cave and switch them out when you want the other ones.
