if you have windows plug it in to the usb port located on your computer. Wait a bit and a window should pop up. When it does click open a folder to view files. If a window doesn't pop up go to my computer and look for it there. Paste files into the folder then unplug the usb. Put the usb into another computer and open the folder in. You can take the files and put them into the other computer. That is how you use a usb drive. 1 gb isn't a huge amount of space though.
