Start by using the iPod USB connection to connect your iPod Nano to your computer system. If you don't have the iTunes installed in your system, please visit apple website and download from there.

Next you can register your ipod to recieved updates.

Next, you can start to navigate through the iTunes software, and look to the left side to create your different playlists and add whatever songs and videos you wish to. You can add the files from your computer if you have or can download from itunes and then transfer it to your ipod.

Once you have added all the contents you want, then properly disconnect the iPod Nano starting from the ITunes software and then disconnect the USB connection from the iPod and the computer. Use the rotating button on the iPod to navigate through the contents you have added, then connect you headphones and listen to whatever you like.
