I have a Smith-Corona electric typewriter called a "Coronet Super 12" still in the case. It is blue in color and still works. In excellent condition. Was wondering the value of this typewriter and what would be the best way to find a buyer? Thank you, Pam Burkholder
The value of a Smith-Corona Zephyr 1938 typewriter depends on its condition. This model in excellent condition is valued between 350.00 and 425.00 as of 2014.
nothing, its a type writer, and its not all that old
If you search your local phone book you may find a good typewriter-repair place. They can probable fix it for you. If you need ribbons, try Staples
Go to https://legacy.smithcorona.com/manuals.php and the manual for the DX4000 is the one named Display Typewriter. It won't list this model in the manual, but this is the correct manual.
Assuming it it in mint condition and with the case it should sell for $85.00-$100.
Please assist me in unlocking my typewriter so that I can release it.
You can restore a vintage Corona 4 typewriter by first cleaning the typewriter carefully. Using soft rags and Q-tips, remove all of the dirt and debris from the typewriter.
Nothing more than a fancy typewriter with a display/word processor. Popular before the days of computers and Microsoft Word.

Can you tell me where I can find a user manual for a smith corona manual portable sterling typewriter?
Hi there ~ I was looking for the same instruction manual, and I found this website: http://users.lewiston.com/ejorgens/office/smithcorona/smithcorona.html It appears to sell manuals for a lot of different/vintage typewriters, including the smith corona portable sterling. (I'm assuming you are refering to the 1938 - 1949 model) Look for the Clipper/Stering manual if this is the age of your machine.
depending on condition a Smith Corona 1903-A3 should bring from $700 to $850
I (*thought) I got my Smith Corona Ultrasonic Portable Electronic Typewriter With One Touch Memory Correction in 1975 when I quit work and was a SAH mom. I missed my (work) typewriter so my husband got this for me. At the time it was suppose to be able to be used as a computer printer (just needed the [costly] cable, which I'm not sure was actually available at that time--or ever?) *I don't see any… Read More
I am not sure if you mean to unlock the case or to unlock it from the case that is holding it. I had one of these and to open the case you have two small levers on each side to open it. Push both at the same time. To take it out of the case you will find a hook in the back of the machine that you unhook. The hook engages a lever… Read More
A typewriter is a mechanical or electromechanical device with a set of "keys" that, when pressed, cause characters to be printed on a medium, usually paper. For much of the 20th century, typewriters were indispensable tools for many professional writers and in business offices. By the end of the 1980s, word processor applications on personal computers had largely replaced the tasks previously accomplished with typewriters. Typewriters, however, remain popular in the developing world and among… Read More

You may find the information on one of the two PDF files located at the related links. There does not seem to be an online DLD 600 entry.
no way, Remington, Underwood, Smith-Corona the standard literary arms of the times, these are typewriters.
Simply slide back the covering, and place each spool on the little rod in their holders. Make sure that the ribbon is fully wound to one side. If the ribbon does not move, then move the lever that is in front and to the left of the left spool in the direction it will move.
I looked and it depends on the model name, and in some cases the serial number. What condition it is in is very important.

I miss my old typewriter!
Check out mytypewriter.com-this might be of some value to guide you through the various Smith-Corona typewriters. Model 11 is not specifically listed, but the going price for the closest one L.C. Smith No. 10 goes for $900 dollars-if its in excellent shape, @ $1050 dollars. That's retail, of course, so you could probably look at about 500-800 dollars to a collector for a machine that's in good working condition. Hope this helps! Ramiro
In england noone tough luck
50-600 or so
condition plays an important role when pricing a typewriter. I've purchased one a couple of days ago for $10.00
50-500 USD depending on specifics
Step 1: Lift the top off the typewriter. Step 2: Remove the old ribbon. On a manual, lift the spools out directly. For a cartridge, press the release lever. Step 3: Set aside. Step 4: Place the new cartridge in the holder and snap down. Step 5: For a spool model, place the two spools in the holders. Step 6: Thread the ribbon through the wire holding it in front of the roller. Step 7… Read More
The typewriter ribbon is the store of ink for the typewriter. When a typewriter key is pushed the letter springs up and hits the ribbon - pushing the ink onto the page in the shape of the letter.
2 dollar shop ;) in hurzii ;)
the typewriter that kerouac used fromm 66 until his death was a Hermes 3000 manual typewriter that sold for $22,500.
The typewriter was invented by Christopher Sholes in 1868, so I imagine not too long after that people began to use them.
Ask a gunsmith for help if you don't know how.
It depends on what you mean by typewriter. The first primitive typewriter was invented in 1575, so its inventor, Francesco Rampazzetto, was the first to use that one. There were many, many other prototypes after that. The first commercially successful typewriter was invented in 1865 by Reverend Rasmus Malling-Hansen of Denmark.
Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) was one of the first authors to use a typewriter, he boasted he was the first with his Remington No. 2.
A typewriter is basically a predecessor top the modern printer, so yes, it uses paper.
None of the 03A3's are antigues
I have an antique typewriter that belonged to my ancestor. The typewriter jammed again. He likes to use a typewriter instead of a computer.
Yes you can.
