Use a skill or power up, and when the MP bar is completely drained out, use MP potions, or pills. Either way works, but don't wait until the last minute to recover your MP, you could get hit and die! What I do is when my MP bar is 3/4 empty, I recharge it. The higher level you are, the MP you will get.
