How do you use the global trading staiton on Pokemon pearl?

First you need to set up your Nintendo WFC, and then get at least one gym badge before you can enter the building (Jubilife). After that, you can choose to:

1. Deposit a Pokemon and input which Pokemon you want back, and exit and check back in a day or so. If someone decided to trade their Pokemon for yours then once you enter the GTS counter, it will show the trade immediately. If not, then you will either have to wait or withdraw it.

2. You can search for Pokemon (given that they're in your Pokedex) and it will come up with the trainers who are trading that Pokemon, and what they want for it. If you have what they want and you want to trade then you just choose to trade them and select the Pokemon, and this should initiate the trade.

P.S You can only deposit one Pokemon at a time into the GTS and if you leave it for too long, it will run away.
