speaking
Firstly, being able to speak and write is very important. In many scenarios, writing and speaking can be the first impression. If we do not speak and write well, others may think that we are unprofessional. We may have the best idea in the world but if our writing and speaking skills are below average, people would not listen to us. If we have good writing and speaking skills, we can persuade others. Good writing skills are also important as it can be the ticket to better grades and greater academic achievement. Hope it helps XD

well being a doctor is NOT easy... you need to go and study in the medical field, no skills needed just a big brain :)
Writing is a form of communication. Clinical doctors need to effectively communicate with patients not only as part of informed consent but also as an adjunct to a patient's participation in their own healing and well being. Clinical doctors must also be concise and consistent with their written communication amongst peers. The combination of peer communication (proper written medical documentation) and patient communication (writing to patients on a level they understand) makes good writing skills an absolute necessity for every doctor.
Having effective speaking skills means being able to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively. It involves being able to articulate your thoughts and ideas in a way that others can easily understand. Effective listening skills, on the other hand, involve actively paying attention to what others are saying, being empathetic, and responding appropriately. Combined, effective speaking and listening skills can lead to better understanding, successful communication, and stronger relationships.
It depends on why you need to speak or write English well. If you are a college student, you MUST be able to write in English. If you are an actor, you had better be able to speak the language of the play you are in. However, you might not need to choose. Practice both speaking and writing, and the two skills will reinforce each other. You can do well in both skills.
You have to be smart and you have to love science and maybe a sense of humor too.
Being shy and timid would not be very helpful in developing oral skills. Most of our oral skills are speaking, and to be effective you must speak with or to someone.
