There are two ways with 2 kind of equipments.
first, using weighing platform. the airplane is pulled onto the weighing platforms. the weights imposed to each platform under each wheel are then summed to get the total weight of the aircraft. We can also calculate the center of gravity.
The second way is by using loadcells attach on top of wheel axle jack. The jacks with loadcells are put below the wheel axle, and then the airplane is jacked until it is the wheel completely off the ground. the rests are the same, calculate the reading, and voila! you get the airplane empty weight.
