To winterize any older 2 stroke outboard you need to purchase engine fogging-storage spray. Run the motor with the engine cover off. Spray the storage-fogging spray down the top of the carburetor-you will see the flap open or partially open that you spray into. Once you start spraying the engine will then stall in a few seconds. Then unscrew the spark plug(s) and spray a liberal amount into the cylinder(s). Then re-install the spark plug(s). Then drain the lower unit(gear) oil and fill with new oil.(it is usually quite obvious where the drain and vent screws are and very easy to do). Simply remove drain screw and then vent screw. After draining insert oil bottle into drain opening and squeeze until the oil overflows out the vent hole. Then re-install both screws. Your engine is now ready for winter.

An outboard motor generally is attached either directly to the transom of the boat, or to a bracket that is attached to the transom of the boat.
The transom on a boat is the stern on which an outboard motor can be clamped.
