I'm guessing voltage regulator?
The voltage regulator has a plug on it so when you replace it all you need to do is unplug the old & plug in the new. Don't forget the ground wire as the regulater requires a ground to the mounting bolt to work. If the plug is gone you will need to get a wiring diagram. You may be able to get this at some parts suppliers who have Mitchell, Shopkey or Alldata available for their customers.
