The Chevy dealer can sell you a wire harness that plugs in to your fuse box area that has all the wires necessary to attach the brake controler.
The wire you are looking for is a white wire in the bundle that is closest to the brake pedal. Use a test light or meter to check voltage going through the wire when the pedal is pressed.
It isn't there, Dodge didn't wire the Dakota with one. You will have to wire the brake controller your self.
not sure, but most of them have a orange wire and a blue wire run from under the brake booster, to the back. these are perfect for your trailer brake controller and break away power.
The brake wire is under the floor mat.
To wire the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller to a 2008 Dodge Nitro, connect the wires as follows: the black wire from the brake controller should be connected to the vehicle's 12V power source, the blue wire connects to the trailer brake output, the red wire should be connected to the stoplight switch for brake signal, and the white wire is the ground, which connects to the vehicle's chassis. Make sure to securely fasten all connections and verify that the brake controller is properly mounted. It's also advisable to consult the vehicle’s wiring diagram for specific pin locations.
blak
Use a test light One wire (hot) will illuminate The other wire (cold) goes to the brake lights will not illuminate

To wire a brake controller in a 200 Series Land Cruiser, first, locate the tow package wiring harness under the dash, typically near the brake pedal. Connect the brake controller's wiring harness to the vehicle's harness, ensuring to match the color-coded wires: typically, blue for the brake output, red for the 12V power supply, and white for the ground. Secure all connections and mount the brake controller in an accessible location. Finally, test the system to ensure proper functionality before towing.
I just installed a brake controller on my 2009 Ranger several months ago. The wire you want to connect to on the brake light switch is the purple wire with the white stripe. This is one of two heavier gauge wires that are on the switch as well as some other lighter gauge wires. The other heavy gauge wire from the readings I got with my volt meter appears to be the power source. I must have got it right because everything has been working fine with the brake controller.
Under the drivers side dash you will find a wire bundle already installed. Untape it. It includes- Red, Blue, White, Orange, lite blue w/white chaser. Red from harness + to Black from controller Blue from harness to Blue from controller White from harness to white from controller Small orange should be connected to red from controller Then under the hood, pull fuse cover. Between it and drivers fender is another red wire w/ ring connector bundled. Untape it and connect it to + Battery connection. There is another red wire between fuse block and engine don't confuse this wire. This isn't used for brake controllers. After that wire up your round 7 connector if not already supplied.
