No, the fog lights have a switch. No, the fog lights have a switch.
Fog lights use special brackets which sit recessed on a 2001 Chevy Cavaliers bumper. To install the fog lights mount the units into the bumper brackets. Then splice the fog lights into the existing wire harness. Use a switch if necessary.
There are no fog lights if there is no switch. it would be labelled.
Depends on how you want to go about it. If this vehicle came with fog lights, they're routed through the ECM, and that process requires you to have the corresponding software... if you're up for spending a few thousand on it, go for it. If you're trying to wire up fog lights in a vehicle which didn't originally have them, I would find an empty slot in the vehicle's fuse panels. From there, run a wire (I'd recommend at least 14 gauge, although 10 would probably be better) to a switch in the dashboard... you can either get a two pole, single throw switch, or, for about $5, you can get a single throw, three pole switch which lights up when engaged... the only difference is that you have to run a ground from the switch to get it to light up when engaged. The wire from the fuse will go to the switch input, the wire from the switch output will go to the fog lights. From the fog lights, you'll need to find a good ground to connect to the fog lights. Just as an aside, don't be one of these rookies who run their fog lights when there is no fog. Unless you're driving a 2005 or later Volvo VNL, the headlights are more than adequate.
Pull out on the headlight switch to turn on the fog lights.
yes you can install factory fog lights on a non fog light car, however, there may be some fabricating of brackets to mount the fog lights to.also you must either install your own switch or wire them directly into your parking lights.
On a 2002 Ford Explorer : On the headlight switch , select automatic , park lights, or low beam headlights and pull the headlight switch out towards you to turn the fog lights on ( push the switch in again to turn the fog lights off )
The switch should be where your light are. You just pull out on the light switch but the fog lights will not come on unless all lights are on.
You might have too wire them separately. A small switch would be best. But you can wire the driving lights in to the fog lights.. Use a separate fuse or an inline fuse so you don't over heat the stock wiring!! Also have an electrical test light, they are very handy when finding hot wires:) But id suggest just using a switch with 14 gauge wiring or thicker.. Hope this helps
The switch or button for the fog lights could be shorting out (water got in?). or there is an exposed wire you aren't aware of...a positive wire touching ground, or corrosion somewhere in the circuit.
I believe you turn on your low beam headlights and then pull out on the selector switch to turn on the fog lights and then push it in to shut the fog lights off
The fog lights are turned on by pressing the fog light button on the headlight switch. On my truck, you have to pull the switch out that turns the regular lights on.
