The Redcoats of the British Empire wore red because it was the cheapest dye available and they had the largest army on the planet.

The Redcoats also wore red because it is the colour of anger, which sometimes made enemies nervous on the battlefield.

The blood-red uniforms of the Redcoats also hid any signs of injury, giving the scary impression that the troops were immortal. Sometimes this lowered enemy morale.

Later however, the uniforms of the Redcoats became impractical and was replaced with camouflaged khaki uniforms.
