Ok so in a summary you would have to have: supporting details ( sentences in the text that Support the main, big or important idea), a big, main or important idea (main idea, only one idea ) ( big idea kind of same as key message ( authors message) , which you will need in a summary) ( important idea is more than one idea). So if you had to write a summary use transition words, your own words and your ideas or supporting details- well your whole summary has to be in logical order.

Hint: The main idea is usually in the first or last sentence of your text.
